Buying Gifts For Boyfriend - How Much Should You Spend?

A couple of questions about buying your gifts for boyfriend or husband or any man in your life!

If you had all the money in the world then is a gift likely to mean more to you because of the cost, or less?

If money were no object and you bought him a token worth $5,000 then is it likely to mean more than if you had a limited budget so could only afford to give him a $20 token?

Or

Is it the amount of thought that goes in to it?

Let me illustrate.

One of the best gifts I ever received from a girlfriend was a small hamper which she had put together herself.

Now the theme of the basket may surprise you when I tell you it was based on beauty products for men so as well as having my favorite aftershave lotion, deodorant and body spray it also had a facial scrub, anti aging cream and even a face-pack. Throw in some naughty undies for us both and put a tag on it that says ‘for when you get really dirty’ and what have you got. Now what man would not like to receive that as a gift?

Guess which item was the first to go? Yep. The face-pack! We both stayed in one night with a good film and a bottle of wine and we still laugh at the photos today and if I get any requests I’ll post the photos for all to see!

On the other hand of course, what she could have got me was a voucher from a store where I could go to buy them myself but would I have bought a face-pack? Probably not!

Have I bought them since?

Yes!

So it goes to show that baskets full of beauty products for men make great gifts for boyfriend and husband alike and the best bit is that you can spend as much or as little as you like.

It really doesn’t matter what you spend ask your girlfriend what she would you prefer a hamper bought from a high street store or one that you made up from products you bought yourself or even made individually?

In fact the cost then is totally irrelevant or I would suggest that he may not be the right boyfriend. After all, if you had all the money in the world then is the gift likely to mean more because of the cost, or less?
